Are you aware of the latest Super Changes from 1 July 2022?
There are two measures announced in previous Federal Budgets that have now been legislated and have taken effect on 1 July 2022.
Increase of the Super Guarantee rate to 10.5%
Workers who are eligible to receive the Superannuation Guarantee, can expect an increase from 10% to 10.5% from 1 July 2022. SG rate is legislated to increase to 12% by 2025.
Removal of the $450 monthly income threshold
As of 1 July 2022, the $450 minimum monthly income threshold will be removed. This means workers, regardless of how much they earn, will be entitled to receive employer super payments. For employees under 18, employers only need to pay super when they work more than 30 hours in a week.
